Your First Visit

photo of mother and daughterWhat to Expect at Your First Visit

Dr. Melanie and her staff love meeting new people! After a brief tour is given of our beautiful office, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. These records typically include a panoramic x-ray and photos and are of no cost to you so that Dr. Melanie can develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care. After Dr. Melanie has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including what to expect and the cost for your particular case. We also pay close attention to your own concerns. After all, this is your smile we’re talking about! It is one of the first things people notice about you.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc) usually takes about an hour. You’ll then see us at regular intervals 4-8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.

Online Services

We know how busy you are. That’s why we’re committed to providing you superior, leading-edge service. Sign up for online account access to:
  • View your appointment & account info any time
  • Sign up for email or text appointment reminders
  • Check your payment history & see current charges
  • Print out flex spending reimbursement & tax receipts

Give us your email address to sign up. (For our eyes only – we’ll never share it.)

Cost

We work hard to make orthodontics affordable, which is why we offer several payment plans:

  1. Chase Health Advance
  2. A payment-in-full discount of 3–6%
  3. An in-house payment plan where payments can be made monthly over the course of treatment.

Insurance

We are an insurance-friendly office and gladly accept most popular insurance (PPO) plans including Metlife, Delta Dental, United Concordia, Aetna, First Dental Health, Guardian, Principal, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies vary, and we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action. If you do not have insurance or are not a member of one of these plans, we are more than happy to work with you personally!
